October 12 more than half a million of locals and visitors dressed in
costumes come to the Plaza del Pilar to give the Lady a bouquet of
flowers. The offering is from the morning until late afternoon. Bidders
organized into groups cross the Paseo de la Independencia, Alfonso Calle
Coso, and down to the Plaza while attending for free enter the Plaza from
the area of the Cathedral. The festive atmosphere and devotion pervades
the whole city. It is the big day of the Fiestas del Pilar.
